🙌 We are back! It’s been quite a while since our last GameCraft in Dublin which was… 2019!!!

Dublin Gamecraft returns on February 15th to bring the experience of game making for one day only.

🙏 With thanks to Technical University Dublin (TUD) Grangegorman, and Bryan Duggan, participants can take part by buying tickets by registering below.

Set in a historic location, St. Laurence’s Church, a definitely unique environment for developing games in. Perhaps the centuries of wisdom present in the building from ages past will enlighten game makers to new heights. Or, perhaps it’s just a nice background to the REAL enlightenment; how fun making games can be!

Available to anyone aged 18 or over, from hobbyist to industry professional, from digital to physical, Dublin GameCraft welcomes people from all of these groups for a day of collaboration. A quiz game where people have to answer questions by strumming the correct string on a guitar? A guessing game where artists compete to see who can make the most obscure art and still have people guess correctly? Control a character in a digital game with a gamepad made from a shoestring and some spare paper-clips?

Dublin GameCraft is suited to people of many different talents and backgrounds. Painters, Coders, Singers, Indies, Audio professionals, fashion designers – you never know what you’ll be able to make combining everyone’s different skill sets together.

Lunch and pizzas in the evening will be included with the ticket price, and a Student Ticket is available for those eligible. Tickets are going fast, so please check the above link to secure your place. Work alone, or with a team, or make a team before arriving, OR be a real radical and form a team with people you’ve never met before! With less than 10 hours, throw caution or fear of failure to the wind.

Game jams are about experimentation, challenging yourself, and not being afraid to make a mistake (or 12). All feedback and judging is provided to you by your fellow jammers, so please take part as much as you can and see how the day can change your mindset about what making a game is like, and especially, what kind of person can be a game maker.

For those new to game jams, it’s an event where a theme is announced and you try to make a game based on the theme in a silly amount of time - in this case one day. It’s a great way to try out an idea, or break out of a perfectionist mindset. Most of all it’s a great way to have fun and meet like minded people.
